I sight my air rifle at 25 yards and shoot at Mr. Squiggles holding right on anywhere inside of 25 yards, up a tree or on flat land. Sighted at 25 yards I'm actually pretty much good on a squirrel out to about 40 yards holding right on. This is with a .22 cal using a fed fire pellet.

Red fire pellets are one of my favorites.

I have a RSW 22 cal topped with a hawk 4 x12 scope with mil dots. My gun is dead on at 25 yards but when I am shooting from my 2nd floor bedroom at paper targets at about 25-30 yards I have to use the third dot above center.

For some reason I can't make anymore adjustments to get the scope to come down.

270 it may have something to do with the size of the objective and ring hight on your gun. The higher cross hairs are above the bore. This will I am assuming cause enough of a bore to scope angle change to have you zeroed again furthe down range. This meaning you will be high in between the 2 zeros. What I am trying to say is your pellet gun is sighted to cross line of sight at 20yds. In reality though the boer is pointed ever so slightly up that as pellet travels it is climbing. Gravity will over come the cliband pull pellet back across line of sight somewhere further down range. I hope this helps explain your dilema and I hope I am right.
