I found myself in the same position, like thousands of otherr people. I eventually went with the .22-250 because i tend to stick to the moto "Bigger is Better". I mainly shoot gophers i like to get the bang, splat type deal going. I've shot many a .223 and can say that i'm glad i went with the .22-250, not one regret yet.

Keep in mind that the .22-250 has a flatter trajectory and will buck the wind better due to its flatter trajectory. I've shot in gail force winds (extremely windy anyways) and have only had to hold very slightly of the target to hit them.
