The OEM hoyt strings and cables are crap! The D75 material never seems to stop stretching. If you managed to get 1 year out of the cables then consider yourself lucky.
The next time you consider a cable replacement I would look into a custom cable such as a Winners Choice, Vapor Trail, ProString, etc... Look for strings and cables made out of 452X. I shoot alot, and generally end up replacing my strings and cables every year (~7-10K shots per year on my target bow). A good string on a hunting rig, with moderate use should last you for a couple of years.
IMHO I think the Hoyts are the best shooting bows out there, but their strings are nearly the worst. The OEM string on my ProElite lasted 1 week before I replaced it.
