CharlieP -

I have used just about every call there is for Coyote and always end up using the old stand by. Cottontail in distress. I have used a grey fox pup distress call with pretty good luck too.

If there aren't many people hunting them in your area you should do pretty good. They shouldn't be wise to a call yet.

I use a rodent squeaker to get them in that few extra yard to get a shot off. If you get set up and call for about a half hour 45 minute and nothing shows up change locations. If they are there they'll be in with in that amount of time.

One thing to remember though. Keep your back covered. A coyote will circle your location and try to wind you and alot of times you wont even know they are there untill they are pretty close.

Also, if you have grey fox in the area your in for an exciting time. I have had those agressive little buggers tackle the speaker of my electronic caller 20 feet from me. I couldn't shoot cause I didn't want to hit the speaker.

Me and my brother will usually go out calling together. He brings a 12 gage with #2 or 0 shot and I will bring my .243 Winchester Savage Model 11 with 6 x 18 power bushnell scope. A coyote will hang up in a field if they don't think something is right and I can reach out and touch em with the .243

Hope you have as much luck as I have with hunting these critters. Its a good supplement durring the months following deer season.
