Default RE: cold water presentation

Starting about mid march when the ice is out, i'd probably be out throwing tubes. real subtle presentation. Motor oil, junebug, black with red/blue flake are usually the top producers. suspending hard jerkbaits, or flukes would work too. i know when the water temp hits 55 we start throwing cranks too. they'll hit one. i would rather throw tubes though, maybe a senko or kinami worm. we caught 13 bass in 2 hours of fishing on april 17th last year. all were over a pound, the biggest was a 19" 4 lbr. 4 over 3 lbs. cranks and tubes. fishing 7-13 ft of water with gravel, rock, and riprap. one by a sewar treatment plant that discharges warmer water in the spring/winter and cooler water in the summer. another spot we had alot of luck in was a channel that led into a marina, and the sides were lined with gravel and there were a few submerged logs. we nailed the bass on a quick dropping point.
