I picked up my 35 whelen dies today, and am picking up the new rifle Monday. I am interested in finding two loads that have close to the same drop. What I am trying to accomplish is having an inexpensive coyote plinking load and then a deer/elk load That hit about the same spot at the same distance. My guess is to find a low velocity pistol bullet load like a 158 gr. HP and a good 250 gr. load.

I know that shooting both loads is the only sure way of finding out, but is there any guidelines I could use, or maybe a software program?
