Charlie, Im afraid you might have missed my "tongue in cheek" sarcasm on that last post. The DEC are the ones who would have you believe that the doe only restrictions would prevent accidents, because IN THEORY you have to now identify bucks from does in that week. See? Im not for this season either.
Personally, I dont care for extending late seasons, because, as a taxidermist, I see too many bucks that shed antlers early that would then become a "doe" to the hunter at 50 plus yards. To me, start the bow season Oct 1st, run through November, then possibly start a one week muzzleloader for either sex the week before the gun starter. I dont know, I guess I just dont see the need to start the MZ hunt early. Most of us use them during the gun season anyway!
