I do not think the genesis can be shot by a 5 year old. MY boy at 4 could not shot it. I got him a low compound then shortened the string to make the bow draw to fit him. It did make the bow allmost role over but he can draw it and shoots well. I put a ton of twist in the string yery few weeks i take some twist out.
