Default RE: Rattling from a deer stand

Rattling is not heavy Clashing of the tines , but mearly a tinkling and rubbing of them.
for the most part that is what works best for me, but one of the years i hunted in manatoba the deer were not responding very well to the horns, so i decided i would beat the fire out of them, well i did all i could for what seemed like 10 minutes probably more like a minute to a minute and a half and until my arms felt like they were going to fall off, as soon as i quit limbs and brush are cracking and 60 yrds straight in front of my is a beatiful 10 pt. hair standing up and steam blowing, he's hot, well i sneak the horns around to the tree, never even thought to do a light grunt and bring him in, well he starts to circle to my left, walking right into my shooting lane, but before he gets the there he turns his head straight up and whirls out of there like he's on fire. the point i'm trying to make is don't be afraid to get agressive with the horns. i lived in tx for 8 yrs and had this work several times. if the deer comes in hot you may have to make a quick shot so be ready.

best of luck and good hunting
