i have an 870 fromt he 80's that i used for deer . it specifiaclly says 2'3/4 inch only. but the hastings barrel i have on it says " 2 3/4 or 3''shells in magnum recievers ONLY"

take it for what you will, but i sure as hell wouldnt want a reciever to blow in my face
