Default RE: Does anybody hunt Allegany County NY?

MV,

I'm located 2 miles north of the Allgehany Co. line in Wyoming Co. The hunting seems to get better the futher south you go from here, but I had to stay within the county due to my old job (Sheriff).
Never the less, the reason why I chose So. Wyoming Co. was for the hunting. Excellent !

Retiring as a cop, I had seen many squabbles between the city folks
(City-ot's as we used to call them) who had bought a postage sized piece of land out here, just to post the snot out of it and then go over and hunt the neighbors. We had a lot of problems with them over the years as they really had no idea of good hunter/landowner ettiquette.
That was some not all......you have to understand that I got called to handle "the complaints" or property diputes.

I just got to see the bad side of most city hunters, not necessarily an even point of view regarding fairness, but it was frequent enough to show a pattern.
Even though I hunt surrounding properties that are owned by various farmers, I have permission from them to hunt it. Even though they say I don't have to, I still ask them every year....and they appreciate it.

Getting off track..................I second the vote.....100acres in Allegheny Co. is a good choice.....don't sweat the other hunters.....Post it and let them ask...if they're decent, they will.

Take care,
Bob
