Due to a car accident I am no longer able to fully draw a bow. I have used compound & recurve in the past. So I am to be looked down upon now because I cant draw a bow any longer ? If your that much of a traditionalist AP , just grab an arrow and a loin cloth and jump down on top of the deer from tree's. Your argument is like saying there shouldnt be handicap access to buildings because we " traditionally" use the stairs. I shouldnt be offered another method to hunt since I am unable to use a bow ? C'mon !
Where have you ever heard me say I'm against the use of crossbows by the handicapped, slugman? You haven't, because I've never once said any such thing. Being handicapped myself, I'm fully in favor of crossbows keeping people with legitimate handicaps in the woods. Period. I'm firmly against able bodied people using a crossbow during bow season though.
In fact, my left shoulder has permanently crapped out on me though and, rather than go get a doctor's permit to use a crossbow during bow season, I've started shooting left handed instead.
CMPT, which day are you asking about? Recurve, longbow, selfbow, barebow compound, sighted compound with release... EVEN THE CROSSBOW I'VE BEEN KNOWN TO HUNT WITH IN TEXAS' GENERAL SEASON. Right now, since I don't have anything but right handed bows and I don't have a buttload of money to go rig up with the same selection of lefthanded bows, I'm shooting primitive. Selfbows are free, except the time they take to make.
Believe me, my scores at a 3D shoot right now would flat suck, but I'm perfectly capable of taking a dime off your nose at 10 yards with an arrow from my left handed selfbow. Might get a good bit of your nose in the process, but I'd get the dime.
