It takes some patience and practice to get the loop at just the right length. It almost has to be tied on the short side, and as you pull back a few times, the loop "settles" into just the right length.
After you do a bunch of them and get used to the thickness of loop material, you'll know exactly the length of rope to use and can precut them. I burn the ends of my loop material into balls so that they can't pull out and bash you in the face. <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle> I know just the length I need after the ends are burned to end up with the final loop length on the bow.
