The best length for a d-loop would be having just enough room behind the nock (of your nocked arrow) for your release jaw(s) and clearance space.

Anything more than that is wasted draw length adjustment, and serves no beneficial purpose UNLESS you are going for a certain string-to-face position and hand-to-face anchor point while at full draw.
