270 has been my favorite gun for a long time. Flat shooting. Extremely accurate. Put it in the boiler, and you got nothing to worry about. My next gun will probably be a .270 WSM. Why? It's an improvement on one of the best cartridges ever made. Most important thing: make sure the gun fits you. Guns recoil a lot harder when they don't fit you comfortably. Good luck with everything.
