RE: allergic to deer meat
My guess is it's not the venison but the MSG(monosodiumglutamate) you put in the jerky to cure it. I've eaten venison for years but the first time I ate home made deer jerky I experienced the same thing. I took a couple years to figure it out and now that I know what causes it I stay away from it and haven't had the problem since. I still eat lots of venison but no jerky. The soy sauce I used as a marinate was what contained the MSG.
