nosfedgta - hang in there. Like you said, it's hard as hell finding land to hunt down here. I'm in Columbus and this is the first year in several years that I've found a place. I am seeing signs but no deer. I know they are out there, but you have to play their game. I suggest you get into some articles out of Southern hunting magazines such as, GA Outdoor News. The Rut is still in full swing around here and you can't count on your previous patterns. Just stick with the does and if you don't get your buck. Then there's always next year.
I killed my first buck this year, other than a cow horn spike several years ago. Maybe I should have let him walk, but I figured I'd have to start somewhere. He's the only buck I've seen this year.
