Turkey hunting this past spring, I was sitting up against a tree with my back to a field. I was working 3 gobblers down to my left, and all of a sudden i heard something coming from my left and behind me. I thought it might've been the birds since often they circle around then come in. I sat there still, waiting for whatever it was to walk out in front of me, when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. It was a coyote, and he was right on top of me, he practically brushed up against my jacket sleeve. I spun around to blow his head off, and before i could get my gun around he was out of there haulin balls. This has happened several times, but never this close, and they've always took off flying. I wouldn't worry too much. I thought my turkey hunt was over though, but I moved left about 100 yards inot the woods, and within 15 min. called the 3 gobblers in a downed one.
