The leupold has a shorter tube than most. Are you sure your scope (a) is not making contact from the front bell on the ring, or (b) is not hitting the reciever/barrel? If your front bell is hitting the ring, it may not be properly closed. And if the scope is touching, you've got more issues. Good luck getting it straightened out.
