That's a great story! I can invision it but not becasue I've ever stepped ona phesant. In my neck of the woods there are very, very few phesants. I have through the year come close to stepping on a grouse or 2 or 10. Some years they're every where and they sure do get the hart pounding when they flush from under your feet.

I wish I could have seen you do the school girl dance. I'm sure it was priceless
