Although i've shot quite a few deer and a bear with my 243 Win, i feel it's on the small side for anything but the best shots, meaning "side shots".

Anyway, i'd use 100 grain Nosler partitions if it was mine, as i think Federal loads them. I'd for sure use 100 grain bullets in any other brand. Once i figured out to use 100 grain NP's in my 243 Win, it started to get real close to being a deer rifle!!

For coyote, i'd still use 100 grain bullets. Why not?? They will already be sighted in, and give you some practise with your "deer loads"!! Also, in many cases, the heavy bullets do less pelt damage than lighter explosive bullets.
