I will be hunting Afognak this May, the 17th through the 25th. We plan on using a Zodiac with a 15 hp outboard and cruise the shorelines and glass for the big browns. The Native Land Use Fee for the brown bear hunts is NOT cheap, but since I don't have to hire a guide, my hunt will still be 1/10th the cost of a non-resident. Ask me the beginning of June and I will let you know how the bear hunting went.
