the only time the bow was in the press was at the dealer's shop when the new limbs were put in
If it's pressed incorrectly it only takes one time...seriously. Putting a bow back together is probably the easiest situation to mess one up with. It's an awful lot of pressure on the riser and limbs to get the limbs pressed to where you can actually get a a string and cable/s back on. I HATE dis-assembling a bow for this very reason. With or without the right press/pressing technique regardless of bow type you have to be real careful...I've seen more bow risers/limbs/pockest trashed this way than any other. I've done it myself.
I did notice that the bottom limb ( which is the limb that cracked ) had a 1/16th gap between the bottom of the limb and the limb pocket.
There is a rubber "gasket" that goes around the limb pocket to prevent this gap, sounds like the dealer either didn't install it, or if one is not careful re-assembling the bow, it will pop out and get hung up under the limb.
