I know it's gone now but I've found the best stand lock and use them on all my hang-ons.

Once the screw is set into the tree and the lock is locked there is no way to cut it. I suppose someone could still destroy the stand but they won't be taking it home without a chainsaw. I use these in conjunction with removeable ezy-climb steps to secure my stands. It cost a bit more but when I show up at 5:00am I know my stand will be where I left it.
I'm not blaming you by any stretch of the imagination but I personally came across 4 stands that had been left out over the course of the year. People are in the woods, Unhonest people are in the woods and a year is a long time for a stand to stay put without a vigilante.
