Thats a very good question as well as some good replies. Its kinda discouraging going to your stand prior to daylight and see tracks of the deer you been hunting in your own footsteps from the evening before. When they feel the pressure put on they will head to the thickest area there is. He will probably spend most of the season in there but he will move around at some time during the day but he will not move far. Look for the thickest and most unaccesable area then be in your stand way before daybreak. Also find out when the rut is and use this to your advantage as he won't be able to resist some hot does.
