I don't have access to private land, and I don't have any friends who hunt, so I am looking for places to go. I've read that the best area for deer in Cali is the northern part of the state, and also in the Sierras in the east. I have also read that one should never hunt alone. Especially as a rookie. I assume there are clubs, people you can go in a group with. My next step will be to check out the local gun club, and talk to some folks there. In the meantime, I'll be back on this board.
