RE: If not scent-lok then....
Well Stump...believe it because yes, if the wind is changing to a direction that will put me upwind of where I know (because of extensive scouting) the deer will be coming from, I move! I will take my chances with leaving scent while I'm leaving/moving rather than sit in a location where I know my scent is being blown right to deer! Did you ever think that the longer you sit in a spot, the more your scent is being broadcast downwind? Granted I don't have to move much because my stand locations, enter/exit routes, deer travel patterns, bedding/feeding areas, etc have been thoroughly thought out and planned and I make as sure as I can be that I will have a desirable wind for the stand I choose to hunt! As far as what state land I hunt, the list is very long and that's the key...you need to have many options for all winds! Oh and about you being POed in that situation...rats, I made someone mad! I could give a rip who was POed about it...I'm there to hunt for me...not you!! A quick question for you...Have you seen many large, mature bucks (during shooting hours) that had winded you in the recent past? I think that is one problem that hunters have these days...they don't give the animal they're hunting the credit it deserves and they underestimate it!!
But of course, you don't have to worry about the wind because you wear scent-lok...so why am I telling you!!
