Scope mounting question
Maybe I'm just tired but I am having a hard time thinking this through and just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
I just mounted a Simmons ProDiamond 2X on my Mossberg 835 shotgun. When I sighted it in it was still 1 to 2 inches high with the adjustment full down.
I am looking to shim the rings a bit---but which ones should I shim? It seems as though I should shim the front up a bit to bring the crosshairs up to the impact point. But I want to make sure that I don't have the scope adjustments against the stops.
Anybody have any good advice?
