I have a 20, 12 & 10 ga. I love them all for different situations. To be honest, I actually seem to shoot better with my 20 ga. when I do sporting clays (but it does have skeet chokes) where as my 12 has full/mod. I have yet to get a pheasant yet with my 20 but we hunt wild birds and the shooting is long. I would reccomend both
