I really hope you are not trying to compare the 300 Ultra to the 30-06. Becouse of the ballistics.

The 300 Ultras is a very nice long range cal. but at short ranges you should prob. stick with something a bit milder like the 30-06 or the 7mm Mag or even the 300 Win. mag.

Many people feel that the 7mm Mag and the 300 Win. Mag are pretty equil in stature. (in vel. and preformance.) So if you already have the 7mm Mag. why qould you opt. for the 300's.?
