One fella touched on the key issue. Land can only sustain a certain amount of game, both in terms of habitat and food. Since the hogs multiply so rapidly, they will soon pressure the deer out of there, in addition to all the other problems of hogs.

We are going hog hunting today, population control. However, we also like to eat them.
