I don't believe the XD comes in .45ACP yet.
Personally I like the XD and have a 4" chambered in .40S&W.!

I don't know about the XD or any of the Springfields for that matter.Glock does have a Compact 45 ACP and now the 45GAP I have a Sig P-245 and it's one fine gun.I haven't shot it much but so far seems to be very reliable. It's a shorter version,I guess it's considered a Compact.. You do have to hang on to in but the recoil is manageable.For some it might be to much recoil.For those the 40 S&W fits the ticket.
