Criteria -- thats kind of a personal thing. It's a poll, hence pick the ones that mean the most to you and write 'em down.
Someone who is "deer addicted" might say:
The North American Big Five:
-- White tail deer
-- Mule deer
-- Black tail deer
-- Sika (sp)
-- Coues (sp) deer, etc. etc.
Someone who is focused on Dangerous Game might say,
Big Five:
-- Polar Bear
-- Brown Bear
-- Grizzly Bear
-- Black Bear
-- Cougar
No doubt someone in Africa must have thought that the animals making up the Big Five should have been different ---- there was probably room for opinion at one point....
