Default RE: Good area?

WAIT one second ... I beg to differ!

I live exactly 9 miles from the heart of downtown Boston, and can tell you there are gobs of deer within 3 miles of me, or about 15 minutes from the airport. It's not 3000 acre parcels of public land like out west, Mass hunting is all about finding blocks of woods 15 to 50 acres big with deer .. some of these tiny blocks will have 10 to 20 deer in them, it's all a matter of location. Mass has some of the best genetics in the country. If you live in California, you are used to driving 45 minutes to get a good burrito .. here in Mass 45 minutes from Boston could put you in Rhode Island, New Hampshire or out past Worcester. We have outstanding waterfowling along the sea coast or on WMA's in the interior and healthy populations of grouse and woodcock in the fall. We also have a very healthy turkey population.

You have a better shot at getting a deer in Mass than driving up to NH's White Mountains or Maine's paper company lands!
