RE: which dead center bullet for my disc rifle?
O2Be,
I shoot a .50 disc extreme. I sent Cecil an email asking which rounds to use for out to 125yds in WI for whitetail. He emailed me back the next day and suggested 330 grain extreme or 250 grain dead center. He said at that distance I didn't need to use the more expensive dead center and could save cash with the extreme.
I have only shot at 50yds and used the dead center. At 50 the bullets are in the same hole w/ 100 grains loose triple 7. The big factor in making my groups tighter was adding a red dot. I had problems with that and ordered a holo sight.
When my holosight comes in (late feb) I am going to test a lot of rounds. I have the powerbelts, dead center, extremes, Knight red hots, and the Hornady. I will be shooting at 100yds next time and will have a better idea what i'm going to use in 04. I did shoot one from approx. 15yds with the dead center and it wasn't a pass through. I know this may be better than a pass through because the energy destroys the insides, however, I like a good blood trail which was pretty much non existant.
