RE: Cleaning Old Deer Mounts
I take my mounts out every once in awhile and use my air compressor. I turn the regulator way down and gently blow the dust off of them.A taxidermist in Alma Georgia told us to use Scott's Liquid Gold cleaner and wood presevative. Lightly spray them and let it dry. He said spray the hide and antlers. It helps preserve it and stops the antlers from drying out.It also replels bugs from getting into the mount. I've done this for the last couple years since he told us. My one mount is from 1997 and it looks like the day I got it back.I hope this helps answer your question.
