Default RE: Taurus Ragging Bull .44 mag

Hi Ruger-Redhawk,

Shows you I haven't been completely been "staying up".....I wasn't aware that they discontinued the .41 Magnum....that's a shame. (Maybe now that some of the manufacturers..ie.Marlin....is bringing its carbine out in .41 Magnum there'll be a renewed interest?!?)

Yeah, I'd be glad to exchange that extra shot...and have a five shot .454 or .480 in a 5 1/2" Redhawk. (You listening Ruger?) The Taurus is only a five shot in those calibers as well. I applaud Ruger for insuring their firearms have an extra margin of safety, (as in the Super Redhawk). And I think it is one of the best revolvers for a "primary hunting arm". But it is just a little more gun than I want dangling on me all day, every day, walking....bouncing on the ATV....doing camp chores.....etc. Heck, I'll already have either a large caliber rifle, or a Brenneke slug loaded shotgun (or both) sitting around camp. I don't want something else with a lanyard. But 5" or 5 1/2" of barrel on a frame the size of the Redhawk or the Raging Bull......I can live with!

And like I said, if I decide to step back down to the .44 Magnum, I may as well have the lighter 629. Carry alot, shoot some, check screws frequently!

P.S. A "stiffly" loaded .45 Colt ain't to be sneezed at either......but then you're about back in the ball park with the .44 Magnum. (Just a thought though....a really light carry.....A Ruger Vaquero 4 5/8" in stoutly loaded .45 Colt....NICE!)
