Yes, you can. The little 17’s kinda get wonky in the wind out at 600+, but connecting on colony varmints leaves a bug splatter.

223rem doesn’t come close in violence of expansion when these itty bitty 17’s connect. At 800-1000+, sure, I’d rather have a 223 with a 77smk, or better still, a 6mm, but at 0-600, the 17’s (and 20’s) are very productive.

Frankly, even running over 1000fps slower, p dogs out to 200-300yrds is easy squeazy even with my little 17WSM (Rimfire).
