Our neighbors camps got hit last year. Luckily he put his camera in the tree 20ft up. Cam was aimed at front porch/township gravel road. The passing truck was ID'd as being stolen 2 counties away and the suspect eventually caught with a photo of him. I do the same. Trail cams are really cheap now. Get low glow or invisible LED so its not and or less visible to the human eye. So buy a couple and mount high in tree angled down, plus one on driveway to get any vehicles. Also search the net for Trail cam Mount. They make a screw in tree type steps that is threaded on the end. All (Nearly all) cams have tripod threads in the bottom. So you can mount your cam on it and get the right angle. Cordless drill may help to start it.
