Default Oh the simplicity

Just so you know I'm old enough to have been bowhunting when the only option was either a recurve or a long bow. I was downstairs earlier today and was looking at my CenterPoint Archery Aspen recurve I purchased about 2 years ago. I had shot it when I got it and took it down and put it in the original box. I took it out and assembled it admiring the graceful lines and the gorgeous lines in the laminated wood. I strung it up and started shooting my feather fletched 500 spine arrows. (Bow draw weight is 45# @ 28").
My grouping wasn't that bad at the 15 yards I could shoot in my basement. I had 100 gr field tips on the arrows and I took 3 and switched to 125 gr tips. What a difference. Not only was the bow quieter but the groups were significantly tighter.
Just shooting for a half hour brought back many memories when archery wasn't "technified" with strings, cables, cams, etc. Just simple instinctive draw back and let her fly. I believe I can still kill a deer at 20 yards right now.
