I just killed my first "official buck" off of the ground. Had cammo home made blind around me sitting against the base of the tree. The buck walked within 15 feet of me before he noticed me. I like the ground because it's some much easier to adjust your position according to the wind, time of day, ect.....without having to move a stand. I stay out of the holes, and try to stay on ridges right off of deer trails. I love ground hunting, especially since I hunt in thick hardwoods.
