I shoved the barreled action into the old CDL walnut stock with pillars and a bit of bedding compound, screwed a VX-3i on top, set the trigger at 1 3/4 lbs., and loaded some Ballistic Tips. This one is finished.
Sometimes you just get lucky. I have shot a total of eight groups (five shots each) at the 100 yard range since this rifle was finished. The agg is under .5". Good golly - that is real internet accuracy! Now if I miss a pronghorn I will not be able to blame the rifle and will have to use the old standbys of "the light was poor", "my foot slipped", "solar flares", and "sat on a cactus".
