For years I melted my lead with a Coleman camp stove, a cast iron melting pot and a ladle. I still use this occasionally like when I'm up the cabin and killing some time. But I've migrated to a Lee electric melting pot. I'll sit in my garage with the door open and cast away. The bottom flow eliminates the need for skimming off the slag/drose from the lead surface is about the only advantage. IMO, once you get going either method is just as fast. The only exception is the bottom pour pot is probably faster for the big 6 cavity molds or for making ingots.
I DO like that bullet Hardcast.
