I have the Ruger SR1911. I love it!! My only complaint is the slide is tough to pull back. Like you I have not had any jams and is more accurate then I could possibly shoot. Wonder if a lighter spring would resolve the issue in pulling the slide back?
The standard, historical, legendary, full size 1911 has always had a 16# recoil spring. It's just the way it is and always has been. A lighter spring would be okay, but you might run into problems with certain ammo. I would leave the Ruger SR1911 alone like I am with my Rock Island....
