During the rut and in certain areas the musky smell from deer, elk and moose I notice quite often, this is where I start my calling/rattling session if the area is of promise. Other times I haven' t noticed the ability to smell game though. I have had that feeling something is near to turn and their he or she stands, really kind of freaky but I guess we all have a sixth sense sort to speak, like walking in a dark alley and knowing but not hearing someone is behind you...BOO[
