At this point in my life - for firearm season - I'm 50/50. Sometimes the stand is the way to go for seeing more. Sometimes there's not time or a place for a stand. Sometimes the wind ain't right for placed stands. And I've shot alot of deer from my feet. Overall I'm on the ground alot more than in a tree these days. Love my chair blind.
Now for archery, I'm in a stand most of the time.
