Yep, sure sounds like a MMP Short black sabot.

Assemble your own with the cheap COP bullet and the MMP sabot. Ive shot a bunch of those sabots with the Barnes 45LC 225gr XPB in the NULA. They handle high pressures very well.

Interesting reviews on MidwayUSA on the COP 185gr and 160gr .451 bullets

Mic'ed 20 random ones (10 from each bag I got) and all were between .445 and .447 diameter, NOT .451
A little undersized @ 0.447, but expansion in ballistic gel was avg 0.723, would recommend.
Hmmm, could they actually be a COP bullet?
