Southern facing hills and slopes will stay the warmest and they will bed there . Preferably close to the food so they expend less energy getting to it. This winter doesn't seem to bad so far and is not expected to be so you picked the right time to start. When the snow gets deep they will migrate to the thick swamps, esp if it boarders oaks where they will come out to feed .
