I know what you mean Semisane. I've skinned out more deer with a Barlow Pocket Knife with a 2" blade then I sometimes care to remember. All them monster knives are sometimes good for is breaking the pelvis. Like you, my first hunting knife was a WWII Marine Fighting Knight I bought at the Army Navy store.
