Like its parent case, the 308, I've yet to see a 7-08 that wasn't a tack driver with just about any decent quality foder you put in it. My son has a Rem 7600 & his buds is a Ruger American. Way back in the early 90s I had a 7-08 in Rem Mdl 7 Mtn Rifle. (STILL kick myself for ever gettin rid of it!
